In this Cadillac LF4 Engine Air Filter Change guide we will discuss how to replace them and what options we have.
Removing the Old Filters
The first thing you will do is loosen the air filter box hose clamps on each side of the air box lid. Once loose enough disconnect the air duct outlet and reposition it out of the way.
Un-plug the 2 mass airflow sensors from each side of the air filter box lid.
Remove all the retainer bolts from the air filter box. There are 13 of them and the one in the very center is easy to not see. If the air box lid doesn’t come apart easy make sure you removed all 13 bolts.
Remove the old filters and inspect the area for large debris or road grit. Look inside the bottom of the airbox and clean it before putting new air filters back in.
After everything is cleaned up secure all 13 lid fasteners and the outlet duct hose clamps and plug back in the 2 mass air flow sensors and you are complete.
